Panchmukhi Shivlingam represents five different faces of Lord Shiva with each face looking in a different direction. This Shivlingam is about three and a half feet high with a Lord Shiva’s face carved on five sides.
Below each face is a pair of hands raised in benediction and a shower of milk and water descends upon the lingam from a copper vessel suspended above it.
The face of the Shivlingam facing East is known as ‘Tatpurusha’.
The face of the Shivlingam facing South is known as ‘Agora’.
The face of the Shivlingam facing West is known as ‘Sadhyojata’.
The face of the Shivlingam facing North is known as ‘Vamadeva’.
On the top of the Shivlingam is ‘Shree Chakrs’ symbolizing the fifth facer the eternal shiva himself in his non- manifested form. The upper portion of the linga is known as ‘Ishan’.
Thus the Shivalingam portrays Lord Shiva both in his manifest and non-manifest forms.
Pujya Papaji and Pujya Mummyji have done the sthapna of the Shivling and Lord Ganesha idols in the shivalay. During the sthapna, Pujya Guruji Maharaj and Pujya Mataji were present in their spiritual form.
